As we know 2020 has been an absolute disaster for most businesses including the wedding industry. I had many weddings booked in throughout spring and summer of 2020 which have sadly had to postpone to next year due to coronavirus, so I've decided to reminisce on 2019!
My sister got married on 5th May 2019 and it sure was a day to remember. Not only was I Maid of Honour, but I was tasked to style all of the girl’s hair on the wedding morning. Being my first wedding since leaving my former salon, it was definitely the way to start my business off!
Although nerve racking, this wedding was hugely personal and by being surrounded by my loved ones it made it an extremely special experience. After managing to sleep for a grand total of 2.5 hours, I rose at about 4.30am to shower and begin the bridal prep.
I can remember only good memories and laughter on this morning, which is exactly how it should be. The morning of people’s wedding day sets them up for the biggest day of their lives, and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to share that with brides and her squad.
Joining me to help curl some of the girl’s hair and blow dry my mum and grandma’s hair was my old work bestie Shaye. She too, did an amazing job, fitted in with the girls perfectly and contributed to a lovely morning. Having Shaye with me eased some of the pressure which was well needed.
Another amazing lady to mention was the MUA Elizabeth Joseph Love. Being the first time I had met Liz, I was so impressed by her work. If you’re after a professional who has outstanding knowledge and talent, yet is friendly and relatable, then Liz is definitely the bridal MUA for you! I have since worked with Liz a few times, and each of her creations are flawless.
These ladies made the ultimate dream team for me to enjoy my sister’s wedding morning and I can’t thank them enough.
